PLA and PETG for 3D printing: what each material is good for, the colours we offer and how to choose between them for your part.
PLA: easy and good-looking
PLA is easy to print and gives a good surface finish. It suits prototypes, decorative pieces and parts used indoors.
PETG: tougher and more resistant
PETG is tougher than PLA and copes better with heat and moisture. It suits functional parts.
Colours
We offer basic colours such as black, white and grey. The calculator shows the colours available for each material.
How to choose
Choose PLA for looks, prototypes and indoor use. Choose PETG when the part has to do a job or may meet heat or moisture. Not sure? Tell us what the part is for and we will advise. The printer's build volume is 256 × 256 × 256 mm; the calculator checks whether your model fits.
